Via Biraghi cond. Montalbino

(Milan, Italy)
1.5MW

Starting from what used to be an empty lot, the project welds the relationship between the fabric of the town centre and the more expansive Art Nouveau period. Part of the latter is also the 20th-century Borgomaneri factory, opposite the complex, which stands on Via Roma.

The Condominio Montalbino in Milan is a large residential complex consisting of 15 buildings and a total of 350 flats. The technical room contained 4 methane boilers generating a total power of 2,442kW for heating production only and separate boilers for the production of domestic hot water.

E.GEO has installed a 1.5 MW geothermal system fed by groundwater for the heating function only. Power is generated by six WBT 350W (manufactured by Teon) fed by three 50m deep intake wells with a total well diameter of 800m and four 55m deep return wells with a total well diameter of 800mm.

Thanks to the geothermal system, the value of each flat can
increase by approximately 6 to 10%.
