After an internship in construction design firms, he joined the Fochi group in Bologna, where he actively contributed to the design and realisation of executive piping for Fiat Avio turbogas systems. He then held positions first as Site Manager and Job Manager and participated in the construction of the relevant equipment in the most important thermoelectric power plants in Italy. With the Fochi Group, he also supervised several plant engineering projects, ordinary and extraordinary maintenance in the industrial field, including the Unicem and Cementi Ticino cement factories, Enel thermoelectric and hydroelectric power plants in Montalto di Castro, Piombino, Portotolle, Bolzano and Barcis, the A.E.M. plants in Brescia and Turin, and the petrochemical district in Porto Marghera.
He began his experience in low-enthalpy geothermal energy in 2006, when he contributed to the creation of E.Geo, from the start-up phase to the subsequent evolution. He held positions in the technical office, as Production and Purchasing Manager, Site Manager, and Plant Testing Manager. In 2011 he became Technical Manager and in 2012 Operations and Sales Manager. In 2013, Moreno Fattor became General Manager and Executive Director and then CEO in 2018.
He graduated in Chemical Engineering in Rome and began his career at Enichem, where he was in charge of the development of some products and a series of special projects. In 1992 he moved to the energy sector. Orlandi first worked at Edison as Business Development Director for the electricity sector and then as Supply & Sales Director in the gas sector. He was also appointed President of two companies he acquired in the gas distribution and hydrocarbon production industries.
In 1999, he founded Energia SpA, today Sorgenia, which became one of the top 5 electricity and gas operators in the free market, exceeding €2.5 billion in turnover and 500k customers, with €3 billion in investments. He was CEO of the parent company and President of several Companies of the group and he was also Vice-President of Assoelettrica and President of Energia Concorrente.
He graduated in Economics and Business from the University of Bologna and began his career in the consulting sector. After obtaining his MBA degree from MIP - Politecnico di Milano, he joined the Edison group in the natural gas sector. He was in charge of business development and the first projects to liberalise the gas sector in Italy, before the market was opened up.
